We’re coming up on cold and flu season again (seems to happen every year, about this time…).
Besides retraining and motivating our crews on the usual restroom disinfection (we use a hospital grade quaternary ammonia product) and touch point sanitation (hydrogen peroxide based cleaner/sanitizer), we like to encourage our clients a bit on keeping their employees healthy: touch free towel dispensers, hand sanitizers, and “wash your hands” campaigns.
Occasionally, we find the opportunity to suggest increased service (number of visits per week) to allow us to better keep on top of sanitation issues. (Helps with dust control as well; we’re in a dustbowl, providing commercial janitorial service in Toledo, OH.) We also try keep sanitizing hand wipes and lotion sanitizers for client use on hand.
Beyond it being the right thing to do, we find that we get paid quicker if the payables person is not home sick…
